Handle With Care
How many of you would say that you do a good job with the care of your clothes? If I had to guess I would predict that most of you do a pretty good job most of the time. It might be that you need to just tweak a thing or two. I know that most of you are over worked and overstressed. In you attempt to get what you need to get done for the day, you take a short cut. For instance, when it comes to doing your laundry do you ever combine your towels with your clothes so that they are washed together in the same load? I know that a lot of college students have a tendency to do this because they don’t have a lot of laundry and want to save time and money. Well, the long and short of it is that you shouldn’t wash your towels and clothes together in the same load. You should take the time and wash your towels in a load with just towels, no clothes. Washing a load of towels and clothes together results in your clothes pilling. Yes, those tiny little annoying balls that you find on sweaters, shirts and pants etc. Just changing this laundry habit will result in a longer shelf life for your garments. I personally would rather choose to get rid of a garment because it no longer serves its purpose anymore. Versus having to throw the garment away because it didn’t hold up. The moral of the story is that you don’t want to put your towels and clothes in the same load, keep your towels in a separate load. Your clothes will look better and last longer.

The New Year
Dear All,
Happy New Year to you. I always get excited with the possibilities at the start of another year. I like to think of the New Year as a fresh start or as some might say a “do over”. So put 2010 behind you whether it was good or bad. With the start of the year I always like to think about how I can improve upon my life. To help with this task I divide my life into three categories, personal, business and play. I usually can come up with a few goals that I want to work on in each category. I think it is important to continually work on the different aspects of your life. Life is constantly moving and we need to evolve along with everything else. Personal growth is inevitable if you want to get to a better place. To move forward you need to start by first putting yourself on your 2 DO LISTS in 2011! I’d like to help you with your goals this year and get you to a better place. Stay tuned next week as I roll out a few new products that can help you with wardrobe and makeup challenges.
Thank you for being a part of my life and community. I appreciate the opportunity to be an important resource for you to look and feel better everyday.
Thanks,
Gwen

Sans Makeup- Are you comfortable in your own skin?
How many of you have seen the latest twitter of Katy Perry Sans Makeup? It's definitely been apart of the World Wide Web and radio news. I first heard the snippet on the radio yesterday. I admit that as an Image-Style consultant it caught my attention and intrigued me to check it out when I got home.
I'd like to touch upon a few points. First of all, I think it's great the Russell Brand likes the way his wife looks with no makeup and posted it on twitter. Women, especially teens need to recognize that most people (men & women) would agree that women don't need that much makeup to enhance their features. Men would prefer to see women with less makeup. Many girls these days are given the nick name (coon) due to the raccoon look around eyes from their makeup. So many women put on the extra makeup and sparkle to impress the guys. When in actuality the guys think less is better.
Secondly, women need to learn to be comfortable in their own skin. It is a sign of a higher self-esteem/confidence. There is nothing sexier than to see a woman who has confidence. Building your confidence is a life long journey. It is a life long journey to be the best you can be. The bottom line is that your Image is important. It may not seem fair but your Image matters. The image you project sends out silent messages all day long. Your image speaks volumes. One aspect of your image is paying attention to details, ie: makeup. Women need to learn the essentials to makeup and how a day, work or evening look can help them look & feel good everyday. The truth is finding out what works for you and your unique features. Once realized, your self-esteem increases and so does your chances of success socially and professionally. The trick is feeling good enough about yourself so that at the end of the day if you take away the makeup, designer labels and bling, do you still feel comfortable in your own skin? Send me an email if you didn’t answer yes to this question. I can help you on your journey to find out what works for you! email: gwen.rich@comcast.net
This survey of 3,000 women produced some disheartening results about how makeup still runs the lives of women.

Who Would Like to Take the Conscious Closet Challenge in 2011?
The Conscious Closet is designed especially for today’s busy, woman. If I’ve learned one thing as an Image-Style Consultant, it’s that women of all ages and sizes sometimes find the simple task of getting dressed each day to be a challenge. Although many women desperately need help in the area of image, they don't seek help because they assign themselves lowest priority on their own 2-DO LISTS. Taking care of others instead of oneself is practically an innate trait among many women -- one that hinders their ability to look and feel better about themselves. The “Catch 22” in all this is that woman who do feel and look their best are consistently MORE PRODUCTIVE.
